This year, Woodlands YEC partnering NParks (and other agencies) will be organising ‘Earth Hour 2012: Picnic under the stars’ to promote going Beyond the Hour and to commit to lasting action on climate change. We will be spreading the Earth Hour message across Singapore through night cycling.

Be part of the hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments around the world to unite and support the largest environmental event in history – the Earth Hour.

Everyone is cordially invited to switch off the lights at home and attend the ‘Earth Hour 2012: Picnic under the stars’ as a sign of support to the fight against climate change. Bring your family and friends down to the Woodlands Waterfront to spend a meaningful Earth Hour with the Woodlands Youth Club!

More info on Earth Hour:
Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for an hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.

Global warming is the greatest threat facing our planet today. A warming planet alters weather patterns, water supplies, seasonal growth for plants and a sustainable way of life for us, and the world’s wildlife. Climate change has already started, but it’s not too late to take action NOW.
