The grand dame of Chinese plucked stringed instruments, the pipa is a four-stringed lute endowed with a highly expressive character and sound likened to pearls falling on a jade tray. Find out more about its true history, techniques and classic works in this lecture-concert by Singapore's premier Pipa Quartet.

Led by the TENG Company's artistic director and award-winning pipa player Dr Samuel Wong, the Pipa Quartet consists of his students: Goh XueQi, Ivan Chng and Jeremy Wong.
